Painting: Caesaria by Barbara Israel Bortniker
Barbara Israel Bortniker started this beautiful painting on location in Israel, on the ancient Roman seaport built by Herod the Great.
In the words of the artist, "I had been to this area several times before and was fascinated by the remnants of Roman sculptures, the aqueduct and the many archeological discoveries.
But on that late Spring day, I returned to the Park for purely aesthetic reasons. I wanted to capture the light on those ancient stones, blanched by the powerful Mideast sun, juxtaposed against the incredible blues of the Mediterranean Sea and sky.
I wanted to bring some of that brilliant Israeli sunshine, vibrant color, and eons of history back with me to the United States."
Now, you can bring this beautiful painting to your home printed on 24" x 36" archival, 100% rag watercolor paper, numbered and hand-signed by the artist.
